Paris

 

This winter I, along with my camera had two days to spend in Paris.
I did get lucky with the weather, so all I had to do is step outside of my central apartment and start capturing the beauty of this historical city.
My little Airbnb was right there, 5 minutes walk from the Louvre and Notre-Dame, it was perfect.
So I wondered the streets  with some short cafe breaks. 
It was pretty cool waking up to the gorgeous views of noisy capital and warm croissants (not to mention eclairs).
I`ll be back soon!

Summer Hycroft Manor Wedding

Hello there!

Its been a while.

So much history and class.
It was a very lovely wedding, full of joy and happiness.

Good morning!

I`m exited to announce that i am now offering film mentor sessions!
Available in person in Vancouver and via skype from everywhere else.

If you want to learn shooting film, this is definitely for you.
If you are already a film photographer, but have questions, this is also for you.

I would love to share everything i have learned over 12 years, while working with film.

This is one of the best things that happened to me!
It started as a hobby, i mostly did street photography and bw portraits and now 12 years later i am still in love with film and use it exclusively for all my work.

The magical process of film photography is why i choose this medium.

The sessions are super customized for your specific needs, whatever interests you NOW, we will cover.

Choosing a film camera, medium format vs 35 mm, which film stock to use depending on the light situation, overexposing and underexposing your film, how to achieve the soft and airy look with film, shooting film in low light conditions, choosing a photo lab, communicating with your lab, light meter and metering, why handheld light meter, skin tones, pushing, pulling film, shooting bw film, processing bw film, working with a model – among the things, that we would cover during the session.

You have been thinking about it, but not sure where to start?
We`ll be covering this as well.

Kelsie and Tylor`s Love story:

“You could say that our love story began at the doors of The Maple Leaf Pub in London, England. I was nineteen, travelling alone, and had heard that a cute blonde guy was working there with his buddies – fellow Canadians from my own hometown in Ladner, BC. I remember resting my hand on the oversized brass knob of the pub’s front door, pausing to debate going in, then quickly abandoning the idea and walking on to explore Covent Garden. 

Our love story truly began five years later when he asked to buy one of my paintings for his apartment as a cover to get to know me better. We talked back and forth for a month before meeting in person. When we finally met in May, he swept me off my feet with a first kiss that was straight out of a 1940s movie.

We were inseparable that summer. I instinctively knew I had met a man who was my soul mate: funny, considerate, intelligent, and not to mention, handsome. My soul felt at home with him. The pieces were falling into place. 

In the bliss of a new relationship, I was not prepared for a huge life event that would devastate me that fall: I lost all my hearing. Over the next four years I would learn Tyler’s empathy, patience, and devotion. His strong calm presence persisted through highs and lows, including communication challenges and life changing surgery with an opportunity to hear again. Our relationship was tested, yet strengthened to new levels, as we navigated this new territory together as a couple.

On the twenty sixth of December, 2016, he surprised me in the best way possible when he proposed in a place that is very special to us: our home together on the water. I am so grateful to continue to journey through life with my best friend; I can’t imagine my life without him, and thankfully, I won’t ever have to.”
